Obituary of Marc Bragg
Please share a memory of Marc to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
BRAGG, C. Marc, age 69, of East Hants, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025 in Debert Court, Debert. Born in Halifax, he was the only child of the late George and Marion (Cameron) Bragg.
Marc spent his life at sea and always had a story to tell. He started as a deckhand and rose to the rank of Captain, all the while mentoring his junior sailors and providing support as they began their careers. Marc had an incredible work ethic, and taught Clay and Melinda to be determined and persevere in all they do. He loved his wife, Sharon dearly and often said that he was sharing his life with his “soulmate”. With heart and character aplenty, he always made sure to provide for his family, even if that meant making a mean seafood chowder and doling out his sharp wit. Things weren’t always easy for him, but with a stiff upper lip and his unique stubbornness, he would carry on and set that example for those who knew him. It’s safe to say that if he could give one last message or piece of advice to those who loved him now, it would most likely be something from Monty Python, telling us to “Always look on the bright side of life”.
Marc is survived by his wife, Sharon (Ashley), son, Clay (Ve) Urquhart; daughter, Melinda (Urquhart) Tibbo; granddaughters, Karsyn and Abigail Tibbo; brothers in-law, Kevin (Patty) Ashley and Bruce (Sharon) Ashley; 4 nephews and a niece.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger’s Funeral Homes, Elmsdale and Shubenacadie. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
