Obituary of Anna Mae Jessie Smith

SMITH Anna Mae Jessie – age 61, of Mill Village, passed away on May 11^th, 2025, at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Earl “Archie” and Mary (Rafters) Smith.

Anna was a very caring person. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, which was very important to her. Anna spent 44 years with her husband, Russell, who was always glad to accompany her on drives. Kevin and Tristan were very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The last 2 years of Anna’s life had been challenging for her due to illness, but despite that she was a fighter and took life as a champ.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, Russell; sons, Kevin (Janice), Jason Cherrett; grandchildren, Tristan Smith, Lesley Tattrie (Corey), Hayley (Alexey) Kasatkina, Colby Tattrie, Grayson; great grandchildren, Payton, Dimitri; siblings, Kim (Angel) Smith, Perry Smith, Della (Ronnie) Freeman, Duane (Janet) Smith, Paula; aunts, Diana and Eva.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, Jeffery; 2 brothers; both maternal and fraternal grandparents.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 111, 42 Mill Village Road, Shubenacadie.
