




Obituary of Clarence Roger McDonald
MCDONALD, Clarence Roger – age 73, of Indian Brook, passed away, surrounded by family, on May 8th, 2025, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son to the late Alexander and Mary Ellen (Paul) McDonald.
Clarence was a devoted father; his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the centre of his life. He was an electrician by trade before becoming one of the first Mi'kmaq RCMP officers in 1979. He was a dedicated officer and served with honor and pride until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed BBQ’s, family dinners, and pool. He was proud of his Club 1000 standing at Dooley’s. He will be missed by all.
Clarence is survived by his children, Denise (Roddie), Dawn, Colin (Pamela), and Clarence “Jason” (Heather); siblings, Lena Politano (Joseph), East Bridgewater, Ma.; Mark McDonald, Indian Brook. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Julien and Colleen Knockwood; brothers, Alexander “Sandy” McDonald, Jack McDonald, William “Duncan” McDonald, Walter McDonald, Colin McDonald and Roy McDonald.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, and 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Sunday, May 11th, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will take place at 10am on Monday, May 12th, 2025, at St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Deacon Wilfred Boudreau officiating. Cremation will follow.
