

Obituary of James Vernon Isenor
ISENOR, James Vernon – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Vernon Isenor, age 80, of Lantz, Nova Scotia, on April 30th, 2025, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He was the son of the late Vera Pearl Isenor, of Milford, Nova Scotia.
Jim worked for LE Shaw Ltd. in Lantz for over 30 years as a truck driver. He made many friends, shared many stories and travelled millions of miles. Jim was a very well-liked, kind man who had many friends and neighbours who valued his friendship throughout the years. He loved meeting and talking to people anywhere, anytime wherever he went. In his retirement years he enjoyed winters in Florida, meeting friends at Tim Hortons “Daycare” for the latest news, taking drives on his motorcycle, going for walks and puttering around the yard, but most of all he enjoyed his big leather chair and watching NASCAR races.
Jim will be sadly missed by his loving and caring partner, Carroll Collins; wonderful son, Don; grandsons, Kyle (Chelsey), Kris (Teri); great-grandchildren, Maddie, Finn, Ayla and Nash; son, Jamie; grandsons, Dillon (Nicole), and Bailey; great grandson, Memphis. Stepdad to Leanne (Danny) Higgins; grandpa to Billy and Jackie; stepson, Ronnie DeCoste (Rhonda); grandchildren, Taylor and Cassie (Chris); grandson, Travis DeCoste; great grandchildren, Lily, Mason and Violet. Jim was also a special man to Carroll’s family.
Besides his mother, Vera, he is predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Darlene; stepson, Glen DeCoste; sister, Devona; brother in law, Gordon Halloran.
Visitation will take place from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Cremation is to follow.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Rev. Allan Lynk officiating.
Interment will take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Milford. Following the service the family would like to invite those who wish to join them for a time of fellowship and refreshments at Ettinger Funeral Home, 860 Highway 2, in Elmsdale.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Dr. Lionel Hindler, EHS and the Lantz Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or the Lantz Volunteer Fire Department.
