Obituary of Eric Chester Cantfell
CANTFELL, Eric Chester – age 76 of Lantz, passed away on April 26th, 2025, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Dutch Settlement, he was a son of the late Chester and Jean (Isenor) Cantfell.
Eric served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1968 until 2004 where he attained the rank of Master Warrant Officer and retired as a Construction Engineering Superintendent. He enjoyed his career and his travels and was particularly fond of his participation on many sports teams within the Canadian Forces and his fishing trips while exploring remote areas of the country.
He was fiercely devoted to his family and never hesitated to put them first.
Eric is survived by his son, Mark; grandchildren, Edwin and Rachel; siblings, Jean, Colleen, Lee (Robert), Helen, Bob (Valerie), Jake (Jamie), Joanne (Raymond) and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Eric was predeceased by his wife, Rowena Stewart; daughter, Lisa; brothers, Allan, Keith (Marilyn), Kenneth; brothers-in-law, Harold, Vincent and Leonard.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Dutch Settlement.
