I remember a lunch I had with Phyllis and Sandra one day, there were so many fantastic homemade pickles on the table that there wasn't much room for anything else. That was forty odd years ago and I remember it so well because it was just so good. Phyllis was a lovely, gentle soul. I should have said that first maybe.

To the family of the late Phyllis MacPhee
I was so sorry to hear of Phyllis's passing. Although we never got to visit that much with each other there was a very strong bond between my mother Midge MacAskill who was Donnie Bruce's sister. Donnie & Phyllis used to visit Mum in Kennetcook a lot. Even after Uncle Donnie passed away Sandra would still bring Phyllis to visit Mum and that meant so much to my mother. They had a wonderful friendship!! My heartfelt sympathy goes to all the family. Sincerely

Dear Sandra and Janie, I am sad to learn that Phyllis has died. I last visited her in Stewiacke several years ago. I have only been home twice since Covid and sadly I did not get to visit her. My mother,Mildred Bruce MacAskill, and I were very thankful that Phyllis brought love and stability to my Uncle Donnie’s life. And, Phyllis was very kind to visit Mum and to join in the Bruce family get togethers long after Donnie died. I thought of Phyllis as my aunt. She was a sweet lady who always remembered me with a card at Christmas. Please know that I will keep all of your family in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve Phyllis’ passing while you also celebrate her wonderful strength and love for all of her family.
