Obituary of Aubrey Eugene Joudrey

JOUDREY, Aubrey, age 91, of Fletcher’s Lake, passed away March 19^th at The Birches, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in New Germany, he was a son of the late Effie (Joudrey) Hirtle.

Aubrey worked in construction, driving dump trucks and payloaders for various companies over the years. He enjoyed working for Avis rental car after the age of 65, until suffering a stroke at the age of 82. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by children, MaryAnn McCormick, Theresa Rafuse, Darlene (Ron) Publicover, Stephen (Denise) Joudrey, Doris (Tim) Hatter, Stephanie (Joe) Chadbourn, Cynthia (Bruce) MacDonald and Donald Joudrey; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; stepchildren, Chris Fowler, Neil Fowler and Peggy (Tom) Holland; sisters, Doris, Marjorie, Alma, Evelyn and Maxine; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary; second wife, Jeanette; son, Peter; brother, Arthur.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

A funeral will be held 2pm Friday, April 11, 2025 in Ettinger’s Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. Dr. Jane Magrath officiating.   Burial will follow in the Fall River Cemetery, Fall River, NS.
