Obituary of Catherine Teresa White

WHITE, Catherine Teresa – age 94, formerly of Enfield, passed away on March 7th, 2025, at Braeside Home for Special Care, Middle Musquodoboit. Born in James River, Antigonish County, she was the daughter of the late George and Sadie (MacDonald) Carson.

 

Catherine worked for many years for her Grand Uncle, E.H. Horne and his wife, Kit. She also worked as a janitor at the Enfield District School until her retirement; receiving a plaque with “The woman what owns the school” on it.

 

Catherine is survived by her son, Claude C. (Cosette), Belnan; sister, Colleen (Colin) MacDougall, Bedford; sister-in-law, Stella Stewart, Thorburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Claude A. White; sisters, Helen Moore, Alice Kimball; brothers, Thomas, George and infant brother; sisters-in-law, Jean Carson, Renate Carson; brothers-in-law, Robert Kimball and Robert Moore.

 

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, March 10th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Enfield. Father Gerald David Officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

 

The family would like to extend special thanks for the high quality of care provided by the nurses and staff at Braeside Home for Special Care. As well as deepest gratitude to Geraldine White, Jeff MacAloney and Jacob Faber for their great support through this difficult time.
