Obituary of Douglas Duncan Green

GREEN, Douglas Duncan – age 88 of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2021 in The Mira, Truro. Born in St. Catherine’s, ON, he was a son of the late John and Winifred (Duncan) Green.

Douglas played baseball when he was younger. He was a bowling enthusiast and was a member of several leagues during his time in Montreal and Truro. He enjoyed taking his children fishing and would spend time at his uncle Howard’s cabin fishing. Douglas also had a love for animals. He was an avid gardener and took great pride in keeping a beautiful property.  It wouldn’t be unusual to see him mowing the lawn on his lunch break in his 3-piece work suit.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children, Alison (Wayne), Pam, Donald; step children, Debbie (Don), Carol (Brian), Danny (Kelly); grandchildren, Brian, Jordan, Dylan, Brittany, Mason, Krista, Cody, Logan, Daniel; great grandchildren, Reid, Jasper, Elliott, Shelby, Aria, Charleigh, Eden; great great grandson, Cash; 9 siblings, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Mary (Campbell); sister, Joyce Powell; brother, Paul; son-in-law, Jeff Frank.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.

A Celebration of Life will be held  2 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Shubenacadie United Church, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia
