Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MAILMAN, Marjorie Anne, of Elmsdale

Born May 11, 1936, died March 26, 2021.

Our beloved mother and family matriarch passed peacefully and will be missed by all who ever knew her. Mom raised seven children and taught school for over 38 years. In retirement, she immersed herself in the Riverview United Church in Elmsdale and Dorca's Clothing bank. Her other passion was the Red Hat Society and their many travels and meals. Mom had a passion for English and was a whiz with the New York Times Crossword Puzzle. Mom was a regular for Jeopardy and never lost a game. Mom revelled in visits from her children and grandchildren. Her great grandchildren made her life complete. Mom was a prolific note maker and gift-giver, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. Mom graduated Normal College, top of her class and began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Urbania. Within her classes were brothers and sisters. She was proud to be a teacher and loved her primary students. Wherever she went, people she taught came up to speak to her. It made her very proud.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Janet), Stephen, David; and daughter, Evangeline, grandchildren, Ryan, Randal, Jeremy, Josh, Kristie, Jarrod, Jacob, Colton and Meghan; great grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Ella, Callum, Max, Olivia, Kai, Madelyn and Cru.  She is also survived by her brother, Ervin (Annette) Matthews; sister Debbie Lutes (Angus), brothers in-law, Joe (Jean) Mailman and Ronnie Bowen; daughter in-law, Edna (Harvey) Mailman; son in-law, David Connors; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Ralph, her parents Rennie and Alma (Cameron) Matthews; brothers John, Scott and Graham Matthews; sister Shirley Bowen, children Cathy, Murray and Jeanne Mailman.

Our mother would want her life celebrated not mourned, so make a cup of tea, sit in the sun and remember a life well lived; smile at her memory, she loved to smile.
