I want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared their kind words and sympathy for Dad's passing. As most of my friends know, my brothers and I held a very special place in Dad's heart. The love in his eyes when he looked at us was palpable. I was especially proud to be his little girl. He was my "Handsome Father" and I his "Darling Daughter". He always held my hand and the space within his hug felt like home and a place where I was safe and loved.
Comments from friends shed light on a few things about my Dad. 1. He was kind, happy and full of life and love. 2. People felt welcome and comfortable in his presence. 3. He enjoyed a good drink of scotch and loved socializing with friends and family. 4. He always had a smile on his face.
My house growing up was always a welcoming space for friends and family. Between Mom's cooking and Dad's drink serving, everyone felt at home and loved. My parents provided my brothers and I a great example of love and family and although things changed for them, that example of strong family values remains instilled in all of us.
All of these things became very clear to me the past few days as I was choosing pictures for Dad's funeral. Although looking at them made me sad, it also filled me with love and pride that I was very fortunate to have him as a father and that I will miss him, every single day. ❤

One of the most kind and gentle men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, with a stellar smile that lit up the entire room. It was hard not to smile and feel loved while in his presence. Rest easy Uncle Reid. Xoxo
