My son David (Howard) and I moved to Grand Lake while the boys were still small. I remember your family as a generous and loving one, and Gordon as a sweet boy, always good natured and he never seeming to be unhappy. We moved away and I never saw him again, but many years later a friend request from him showed up in my facebook. Imagine—a young man inviting a woman the age of his mother to be a facebook friend! So, for the last 10-15 years we have 'liked' each others' posts, lol'd at jokes and funny pictures and I am grateful for the magic of the Internet that I had the opportunity to see how happy he was, how much he loved and was loved. To the end he was just Gordon and it doesn't get much better than that. Warm wishes to you all.

Gordon will always be remembered for his positivity despite anything that was thrown his way! I always remember walking into work, and seeing his office first thing in the morning and he was always there to greet everyone with a smile :) Sometimes in the lunch room we would gather and eat lunch while watching workout videos rather than doing them, and it made for a great laugh! When he went to the Jamieson centre, it was always nice to see him when he came by for a visit. Gordon will be missed; thinking of his family, friends and colleagues at this time.

I knew Gordon first through his volunteer work with CSC and when he worked at Dartmouth Parole. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a Parole Officer and was well respected by his peers and the clients he worked with. He took things in stride and had a great sense of humor. He was a man of action and despite everything he never complained. His laugh and determination will always be remembered and he will be missed always.Sincere condolences to Gordon's family and friends from a member of his CSC family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Gordon was a wonderful person, and an awesome co-worker. He was kind, and thoughtful, and always there to lend a helping hand. He was always in for some good fun also, enjoying group activities (softball, polar plunge, going for drinks). His gentle spirit will be missed by all.

You fought a good fight up to the end Gordon. Your smile, gentle nature and sense of humour will be missed. You were a great parole officer and supervisor, even under a great deal of pressure and unrealistic expectations. Life’s work well done. Rest In Peace my friend, and know you are already missed. As always: Shelly Brown.

To the family, friends and coworkers of Gorden, I send my deepest sympathy. While I did not know Gordon I do know that as a Parole Office with the Correctional Service of Canada his work would have had a substantial positive impact on public safety and the lives of offenders. Take good care. Adele MacInnis-Meagher ADDCO Atlantic Region
