Obituary of Marylin Isabelle Mader

MADER, Marylin Isabelle (Crowe) – age 74 of Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 20, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Lower Selma, she was a daughter of the late Curwen “Johnson” and Marguerite (Scott) Crowe.

Marilyn worked for many years in nursing homes caring for the elderly and disabled and even after retirement, she continued to work privately for local families. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors and bird watching. Marilyn loved animals; everyone that knew her knew she couldn’t turn away any animal in need.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Tom) Sutherland Dort; brothers, Keith (Vicky), Dave (Lila); several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband, Alexander Sutherland; niece, Lisa.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No service at this time as per family’s request.
