Though we didn't see Carl every day around here, we will miss him. You expected to see him and stop and chat. A quick run to the Co-op was thwarted if you bumped into Carl. (:-) He's going to be missed by Evelyn and I. He sold us wood and lumber for years and we got to know Greta and Dee Dee as a result. We'll miss the forecasts for winter Carl made using his black and orange caterpillar crystal ball. Our sincere condolences to Greta and the girls.

I am Wilf Creighton's granddaughter, Andrea. I used to visit NS at the beginning of May to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. We ALWAYS went to my grandfather's cabin in the woods in Glenmore for lunch and were met by the Carl's! The celebration was rife with laughter, story telling and sheer happiness. It was the perfect way for my grandfather to spend his birthday and Mr. Archibald's presence was a wonderful contribution to the day. I have such fond memories of these birthday celebrations.
My condolences to the Archibald Family. Carl Archibald was a fine gentleman and will be missed.

Carl was a well known character in Middle Musquodoboit and his knowledge of country life was second to none. I heard that he was sawing lumber not to long ago and I hope I am just as active at 92 years. Carl had many friends who usually shared in his love of the outdoors or hunting. Carl will be missed and I would like extend my sincere condolences to Greta, Dee Dee and Marie.

My sincere condolences to Greta, Marie and Dee Dee and the rest of the family. I had the good luck to know Carl in the early 70's when I moved to Middle Musquodoboit and we ordered our hardwood from him. Always so cheerful and helpful , he'd unload the wood into the yard out of his big truck where we lived across from Snook's store. Then he'd come in for a chat and a few jokes and bits of philosophy too. I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood. He was full of helpful information about country living (I had never lived in the country before or even had a wood stove before). I remember that he generously gave us a fine old double bitted axe for the splitting of the wood. I learned to do that too...though I broke the handle one day and had to get Everett Mc'Curdy to gave the axe a new ash handle! I still have that axe, though I don't have a wood stove any more! Carl was a wonderful character....bright and hard-working and honest. I know how much he will be missed. It was a pleasure to know him!

Carl is the father of one of my dearest friends Marie. From the time I was 12 years old, Carl and his wife Greta welcomed me into their home and their lives.
Carl was forever a jokester, always laughing and wearing a big grin no matter what was going on. He always had a story about a deer that he shot or one that got away or about the porcupines that ruined the trees.
I spent quite a few summers working the hay fields with him, Marie and Dee Dee and whoever else we could talk into it. He certainly taught me a lot about good work ethics and putting in a hard days work.
I always enjoyed sitting and chatting with him and genuinely liked and cared for him as a person.
Although I did not spend a lot of time with him over the last many years, him and Greta always managed to visit me at each of my homes and share a meal and some laughs.
RIP Carl, you were a good honest person that I was proud to know.
My sincere condolences to Greta my mentor , Marie and Dee Dee...love , hugs and healing thoughts being sent to each of you as you begin this journey without Carl.

We moved to Glenmore in 1978 and met Carl. He was such a big help getting our lot set up, if you called he was there. His words of wisdom will never be forgotten - he was one of a kind. Condolences to his family.
