Obituary of Ada Ruby Woodworth

WOODWORTH (Mitton) Ada Ruby, age 88, of Stewiacke, passed peacefully on May 19, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with her two daughters by her side. Born in Stewiacke on January 7th 1932 to Roy and Mildred Mitton. 

Ada had a deep passion for her family, flowers, baking and was actively engaged in the community through the Stewiacke Baptist Church activities.  She was a mentor to many and a friend to all.

She is survived by daughters, Gail (Avard) MacPhee, of Shubenacadie, Lynne Smith, of Gays River, son, Terry Woodworth, of Stewiacke, sister Marie Gourley, of Stewiacke; her seven adoring grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, as well as several niece and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband John; son Brian; her parents; sister, Yvonne Bottomley; brother, Royden Mitton, son-in-law Eric Smith; daughter-in-law Brenda Woodworth.

A private family graveside service will be held 3pm Saturday May 23 in Pine Grove Cemetery, which will be livestreamed and can be viewed at: http://www.distantlink.com/ettingersremote.html

A memorial service will be held once COVID-19 virus restrictions are lifted and friends and family are able to gather to celebrate Ada’s life.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Stewiacke Baptist Church, Pine Grove Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
