Obituary of Tom Knockwood

Knockwood, Benjamin T. “Hutt” – age 69 of Indian Brook. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our amazing father, grandfather, brother and uncle at his home on May 13, 2020.  Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Keptin Irvin and Annie (Beadle) Knockwood.

 

A jack of all trades, his most important and favourite job was being a bus driver in the community of Indian Brook where he was known for jokes and playing his favourite songs on repeat. 

 

Surviving are his children, Shawn Knockwood, Annie Knockwood (Cory), Doreen C. Knockwood, Patricia (Kearney) Augustine, Selena (Alex) Julian all of Indian Brook, Holly (Leif) Grinstead of Comox,  BC, Chasity (Armando) Lucio of Indiana USA; siblings Doreen E. Knockwood, Stephen Knockwood, Annette Knockwood, and Sharon Knockwood all of Indian Brook. Also surviving are many precious grandchildren with whom he adored beyond words, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

 

Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his former wife, Sharon Roadknight; brother, Gary Knockwood; god parents, Charlie Francis and Mary McDonald-Francis.

 

A very special thank you to Terry Knockwood, home-care supervisor who never left our side during this time and Sarah Paul, home-care worker that became like family to all of us. Your dedication and love will never be forgotten.

 

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a funeral service will be held at a later date.
