KEAN, Margaret “Margie”– age 68, of Maitland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends February 9, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Tennecape, she was a daughter of Isabell (Hill) Huntley and the late Vaughan Huntley.

Margie worked for the Royal Bank for over 30 years from where she retired in 2009. She excelled in many sports and was inducted into the East Hants Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 with the Noel Shore Shots softball team. Margie enjoyed singing and playing guitar as well as gardening.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Paul; children, Andrea (Larry) Lyver, Kirby (Sarah Hill) Densmore; grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Colby, Colin, Lawrence; brother, Brian Huntley; sister, Karen Albert; sister-in-law, Linda Huntley; several nieces and nephews which she treated like her own children and grandchildren.

Besides her father, Margie was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother- in-law, Aubrey and Daisy Kean.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Friday, February 14, 2020 in Ettinger Funeral Home Chapel, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie followed by a reception.

Family flowers only. Donations in Margie’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
