My heart goes out to you all! Joyce was my favourite aunt, she always treated me as one of her own, and it doesn’t get any better than that. As a child, she and Alec took Stevie and I on a trip around the Gaspe Peninsula. Alec commented on the “things“ and scenery we saw and Joyce always inserted a personal human connection into his narrative. She is all about people and connections, that’s a trait and gift we all will continue to have in our lives. For that and sooo much more, we thank you Joyce!! Your favourite nephew, Tony

Dear Alec and family; We express our most sincerest sympathy and condolences to you all with Joyce’s passing. I have such fond memories of Joyce since being part of the Gautreau family. Her arrival in Saint John for their visits with Deanna and Ralph filled The Gautreau home with happiness and laughter. There were always stories and card games. She loved to dance and be with her family. She was always warm to others and embraced others quickly. May your loss only be matched with the support you give each other as you count your blessings to have had the love and care of such a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Karen & Family, So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I remember her & your Dad well. I used to work at Nova Scotia Sand & Gravel where your Dad worked. He was so nice, sincere & loved his family. I didn't realize how big your family was. I would talk to your Mom ever once in a while. I looked after the Christmas Party at the N.S. Sand & Gravel. Whenever I called Your Mom to see if her & your Dad was going, she said 'we certainly are, wouldn't miss it'. It's hard to lose your Mom Karen as mine has been gone 14 years. But we have our memories, family members, friends to help us through this. It's going to be hard for your Dad as well. He's going to miss your Mom so much, so just be there for him. Alex, Cindy, Stevie, Glen , Sherry, Karen and families, our sincere Condolences to all of you. I have many memories of your mom, dad and your family (our family) whether in Nine Mile River, South Nelson, Moncton or Saint John. I think back to many things about her as I was a child younger it’s strange the things that stand out. I remember hearing her talking (to her siblings and my mom - who was like a niece ) that she and Alex never argued or showed disrespect toward each other in front of the children. Any disagreements were discussed and settled behind closed doors. That attests to the integrity that they had . Another memory is when she taught my mom and her other relatives to make “a dress of many colors”. All of us cousin girls had a Joyce Fashion Design! She was always , kind, welcoming, friendly and inclusive of everyone. Although we hadn’t seen each other over the last few years Joyce always kept Intouch via social media. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!.
