Cathy and family: Brant, Eileen and family: We both are so very sorry to hear of Chester's passing. Although Ray knew him for many, many years, I had only met him at the Upper Nine Mile River crokinole games. It was always a pleasure to play at the same table with Chester. I am sorry to see the notice of Chester's death and want to send my care and condolences. To think of him brings back memories of the little United Church where he so impressively organized to have the sanctuary decorated very meaningfully one Sunday when the theme was "camping". I also remember Chester's parents as being very nice people so plese give my kind regards to his mother.

Hi all, So sorry to hear of Chester's passing. I had so much fun and enjoyed making him laugh at bowling. We had a great time and always made the most of our times together with Cathy's encouragement to do our best. Bowling was one thing we had in common, but I would sneak in a farming question now and then. I always want to be a gentlemen farmer, but I became a teacher instead. It was just a couple of months ago on her Birthday I told Catherine that a large portion of my happy memories as a child happened in the Vanderkooi home. There was so much love and happiness in that house. My heart goes out to the entire family. When I got into college... The first and only people that told me they were proud of me and that it made them happy were Chester (And Cathy) I will never forget it. I was lucky enough to grow up with Jason, Peter, and Tim... They are all hard-working, intelligent, and hilarious... Just like their father. Great people... Great family... and Chester was the anchor of it all. He will be sorely missed.
