LOGAN, M. Hugh - 93, Shubenacadie, March 17, 1919-February 3, 2013, passed away in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born near the Sandy Desert Road, Hugh was the son of C. Stanley and Jessica (Baker) Logan. He lived in the Shubenacadie area throughout his life. He worked in lumber camps, as a farmer, and, from 1959-1985, as a heavy equipment operator at Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel. During World War II he served as a Private in the Army. Hugh was a man with simple tastes in life. His loves were his family, playing his guitar, and listening to music. Survived by his sons, John (Adelle), Ottawa; Stephen (Mary Beth), Hilden; daughter, Jessie, Shubenacadie; grandsons Leander, Malcolm; sister, Doris Ainslie, Rockingham. Hugh was predeceased by his wife, Helen (MacKenzie); daughter, Mary; two brothers, Malcolm and Robert, and two sisters, Helen and Marjorie. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Emergency, Intensive Care, D3, and Palliative Care units of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, for the exemplary care they provided to Hugh. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 5 between 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. at Ettinger's Funeral home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of Hugh's life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 6 at St. James Anglican Church in Shubenacadie, Rev. Lloyd Ripley presiding. Committal in Brookside Cemetary. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
