Obituary of Lena Langille
Langille, Lena Isabelle- age 81, of Truro/Clam Harbour, passed away July 31, 2017 in The Mira Nursing Home, Truro. Born in Clam Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Shirley (nee Day) Baker.
Lena was an avid Bingo player which she loved up until a few years ago. She loved putting in her flower and vegetable gardens in her younger years. She loved children and telling ghost stories. When she was younger she used to read people’s tea leaves. She was an independent and strong-willed woman who loved her children. She was the toughest woman we’ve ever known.
Lena is survived by her sons, Richard, Upper Nine Mile River; Joseph, Truro, who took care of his mother for the last 10 years, as long as he could; Harold (Lisa), Shubenacadie; Robert, Shubenacadie; Trevor (Michelle), Shubenacadie; daughters, Debra (Ed), Barr Settlement; Tracy (Will), Ontario; brother, Joseph (Ida), Carrolls Corner; sisters, Gloria, Hammonds Plains; Julie, Ontario; Lucy (Brian) PEI; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; son, James; daughters, Edna and Donna; infant son, Anthony; sisters, Gladys, Edna, Daisy; 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held beginning at 1pm until time of Service at 2pm Thursday, August 3 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie, Rev. Matthew Fillier officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River.
