Obituary of James Ettinger

ETTINGER, J. Albert - 94, Shubenacadie /Truro, passed away April 23, 2013 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Shubenacadie, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (MacKenzie) Ettinger. Albert served as an infantry instructor for four years in Aldershot, a member of the Memory Club of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. On his return from the army he went to work with his father in the funeral business and after the death of his father Albert became owner and manager of Ettinger Funeral Home. He was a chartered member of the Shubenacadie Branch 111, Royal Canadian Legion and was awarded the Meritorious Award, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was past-Master of Masonic Lodge of Stewiacke and chartered member of the C.W. Saunders Lodge, Elmsdale, also held membership in the Scottish Rite and the Shriners. Following the death of his father he continued on as MLA for East Hants. Surviving are his wife Olga (Cavicchi) Archibald - Ettinger, stepchildren Jeanette Baudoux, Karen Berg, Johnny and Greg and grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister Helen, step-son Andy and 2 grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Funeral service 2pm, Saturday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev.
