NEWHOOK, Wade Russel, 56, of Shubenacadie, passed away suddenly on April 6th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Middle Musquodoboit, he was the son of the late Rev. Russel Newhook and Sylvia Newhook (Dean) of Bramber, NS. Wade was a skilled machinist by trade and car enthusiast, loved by all who knew him, he was very caring, kind and compassionate, with a great love for his family and friends. His love for music will always be remembered. He enjoyed goin' muddin' and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His witty sense of humour and smiling face will be forever missed. Wade is survived by his loving wife, Sheri Newhook (Atkinson); children, Amanda (Howie) of Ralston, AB.; Cody (Lindsay) of Upper Stewiacke; Caitlyn (Mark) of Upper Nine Mile River; and Evan (Ashley) of Halifax; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Madelynne, Ella, Lincoln, Lyla and Aubree. Wade is also survived by his sisters, Mary Dean (Blair) Carman, Bramber; Arlene Newhook, Kempt Shore; Sheryl (Bruce) Smith, Truro; Sheila MacLean, British Columbia; Cecile (Alan) Heighton, River John; and brother Ward (Grace) Newhook, Brentwood; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Wade was predeceased by his father, Rev. Russel Newhook. A Celebration of Life will be held 1-4pm Sunday April 23 in the Upper Nine Mile River Fire Hall, 11 Slate Quarry Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wades honour to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital in Halifax.
