MILLER, Laurie Morton “Robbie” of East Stewiacke passed away peacefully in the Intensive Care Unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on Wednesday February 1, 2017. Born in Halifax to the late Emmerson and Helen (Morton) Miller. Laurie taught elementary school for 35 years and was very involved in school sports. He coached both house and rep. league hockey teams, coached mini basketball and was at one time President of minor hockey in Brookfield. He loved all sports and played and coached “old timers” hockey and softball and enjoyed golf. He had a very easy way with children; he loved to tease and enjoyed a good joke. Laurie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat (Ross); sons, Kevin (Sarah), Bedford; Jason (Jeanette), Truro; granddaughters, Emma and Mira; sister Beverley (Jack) Vissers, East Stewiacke; brother in-law, Paul (Barbara) Ross, Kanata, ON; several nieces and nephews Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 3:30-5:30pm, Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Private Interment will be held in the spring. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Laurie may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
