Obituary of Lester Grant Gorveatt

Please share a memory of Lester to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

GORVEATT, Lester Grant, age 58 of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Truro, passed away peacefully December 9, 2016 in the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, with his family by his side. Born in Truro, he was a son of Douglas Gorveatt and the late Meldon Bartlett.

In his earlier years Les enjoyed competitive swimming and put those skills to use when he played on the football team while attending CEC. You were always sure to see Lester's straight back as he walked (strutted) down the corridor of CEC. With his quick wit and teasing smile he was often the center of attention at parties which he loved. He wanted to go where the fun was.

Lester settled down and married Kathy, the girl who held his heart and was his soul mate. They had two beautiful children Chelsey and Jarrett.

While living in Truro, Lester attended and graduated from the Atlantic Computer Institute in Halifax. He continually upgraded his knowledge and skills over the course of his career. He was a Network Technical Architect, well respected in his field and worked as an independent consultant, employed in both the public and private sector. Lester's career took him to Ottawa and across the Atlantic Provinces. He left his footprint embedded in everyone he met.

Lester and his family made their home in Fredericton. Lester took pride in his home and enjoyed planting over 100 Cedar trees and watching them mature. He enjoyed sharing everything he could with friends and family. He loved us more than words can say and was so blessed to have his three grandchildren share our life together.

He will be sadly missed by his lifelong friend and wife Kathy (Crowell), daughter Chelsey, son Jarrett, grandsons Tyson and Logan, granddaughter Brooklyn, father, Douglas and siblings Steven, David and Joanne.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Wednesday December 14, 2016 (live stream will begin at 1:55pm AST) in the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. A committal service will be held in Bible Hill Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Lester may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
