Obituary of Linzie Maurice Ashley

Ashley, Linzie Maurice - 82 of Lantz, passed away suddenly on September 17th 2016 of cancer. Born in Dutch Settlement, NS he was the eldest son of the late Ralph and Ina (Isenor) Ashley. Linzie was predeceased in 2014 by his wife, Patricia (Hannaford) Ashley. Linzie was an employee of Air Canada for 29 years where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and counting deer on drives with his family. He will be missed by his son, Wally (Darlene); daughters, Peggy Patterson, Annette (Doug) Ashley and Carla (Jeff) Mombourquette; his eleven grandchildren, Amy (Andre) Boutilier, Bradley (Mellisa), Jennifer, Ronnie, Vera, Jessica (Richie), Stephen, Melissa (Keith), Dylan, Marshall and Riley; and his seven great grandchildren. Also missing Linzie are his sister, Bev (Jim) MacDonald; brother, Brian (Ellen) Ashley; brother in law, Ron (Janet) Hannaford; sister in law, Gail (Andre) Goguen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dora Richard and brother, Boyd in infancy. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held 2pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Saint George’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Dutch Settlement, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. A reception with family will follow at the Riverline Activity Centre, 80 Grono Road, Dutch Settlement.
