Obituary of Cienna Rose MacPherson

MACPHERSON, Cienna Rose – age 17 of Lantz, died June 10, 2016 as a result of a tragic accident that also claimed the life of one of her best friends, Joana Hofer. Born in Halifax, she was the eldest daughter of Mark and Candace (McCormick) MacPherson. Cienna was a keen student at HERH who loved to share her knowledge with others. She studied dance for a time and later learned to love rugby. Cienna was an adventurer and a hiker who was always up to explore. A leader and mentor to others, Cienna took every opportunity to travel within Canada and abroad through school, cadets, and with family. She was heavily active in the Air Cadet program, earning her single engine plane pilots license in 2015. Cienna was well loved. She is survived by her parents; sister, Jessica; grandmothers, Reita MacPherson and Lonie (Mel) Gilroy; Uncle Kari (Shonna) McCormick; Aunt Tami Reid, Uncle Ron McCormick, Aunt Shaunna (Rob) Ryan; cousins, Kyle, Shae, Emi and Josh McCormick, Courtney and Celeste Daly, Keelan McCormick, Clara and Jack Ryan. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, NS. A Celebration of life will be held 2:30pm Saturday, June 18 at Hants East Rural High, Milford, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. Donations may be made to KidSport Nova Scotia, IWK Health Foundation or to the Milford Lion’s Club.
