SHACKLETON, Reginald “George” - age 85, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016 in The Magnolia, Enfield, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Grand Lake, he was a son of the late Samuel and Hilda (Osborne) Shackleton. George was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force, and was a self employed trucker. He enjoyed his guitar, country and bluegrass music, NASCAR, travelling and above all he enjoyed being a family man. He was a wonderful husband, father, and the greatest Papa ever. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Benere); children, Dan (Doris) Ohio, Kenny, Greg (Barb), Tom (Heather), all of Enfield; daughter, Wendy (Stew), Nine Mile River; Larry, Grand Lake; grandchildren, Danielle, Miranda, Tanya, Sean, Jeff, Charlene, Mathew, Craig, Dana, Megan and Philip; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sam, Haylee, Daniel, Aliya, Bryson, Sydney, Levi, Jade, Brandy and Sam; sister, Helen Smiley, Enfield. He was predeceased by infant daughters Marion and Janice; daughter in law, Darlene; brothers, Joe and Fred; sisters, Mildred, Florrie, Amy, Mary and Hazel. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held 10am Tuesday, May 10 in St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional staff at The Magnolia. We’ll never be able to thank them enough for everything they’ve done for our family. Your support is sincerely appreciated.
