Obituary of Donald Borden Singer

SINGER, Donald Borden, 74, Upper Rawdon, passed away September, 28, 2015 at Colchester East Hants Health Center. Born in Noel, he was a son of the late Minnie and Albro (Cleveland) Singer. He worked for J.A. Meehan and Sons for over 50 years, while being subcontracted to Municipal Construction; He concluded his career working for David Singer Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors, nature, hunting and fishing. He was a devoted family man. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Cathy Singer (Danny) , sons Craig, and Chad (Louann); grandchildren Crystal, Katelyn (TJ), Cory (Leah), Chrissy,Jaquline and Racheal; great grandchildren Gage,Trenton and Victoria, sisters Phyllis (Jack) Hines, Doreen (Mike) Hartt, Sharon (Randy) MacAskill, and brother, Tony (Sandy), and special friend Clara. He was predeceased by wife Marion, siblings, Currie, Gordie, Gary, Opal Lawrence, Joyce Williams, Ivy Hines, Sheila Singer, Doris Beaman and Merna at birth. The family would like to give special thanks to the East Hants Palliative Care Team. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held 7-9pm Thursday October 1, 2015 at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy. 2 Shubenacadie. Don’s cremated remains, as well as the ashes of his wife Marion, will be committed to rest on Friday at 2pm Oct. 2 in Upper Rawdon Cemetery at a family committal service, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association. Condolences, words of comfort, and memories of Don may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
