REID, Carl Roderick “Rod” – age 92 of Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2015 in the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, Halifax. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. He is survived by his son, Michael (Debbie), sisters Lola Courtney and Dorothy Clark, special sister in law and caregiver Janette Burke; special nieces Shannon Burke and Courtney (Tyler) Dillman and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Olive Elizabeth (Parker), sisters Gertrude MacPhee, Edith Scott and Agnes Reid in infancy. As per Rod’s wishes, his remains were donated to Dalhousie Medical School. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held 1pm Sunday September 27, 2015 in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff on 6 East at Camp Hill Veterans’ Hospital. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building through the QEII Health Centre Foundation.
