Thomson, Jean Elizabeth Age 81, Enfield. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who passed away peacefully at Magnolia Continuing Care Facility, Enfield, on September 13, 2015. Born in New Glasgow on November 7th, 1933, Jean was a daughter of late Joseph and Pauline (Pitts) Richardson. Jean was affectionately known to her family as “TOAD”. She is survived by Daughters - Hilda Bleakney, Halifax; Ceily (Brian) Archibald, Tantallon; MaryAnne Hatfield, Halifax; sons, Robert Thomson(Janet),Toronto/ Enfield; Peter Thomson, Enfield; Seven grandchildren - Justin, Michael, Jennifer, Amanda, Andrea, Angela and Carley; one great-grandson - Carson, Sisters - Margaret (Lawrin) Armstrong, Urbania; Louise (Harry) Preeper, Lac La Hache, BC; Luella Taylor, Parrsboro; Cecilia (Bill) Power, Halifax; Pauline (Reid) Crooks, Dartmouth, sister in-law Joyce Richardson-Chase, B.C., and several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband Bob of almost 40 years in 1995, son Andy in 1981, sister Mary, (Harold) MacDow, brothers - Peter, Louie, Donnie and Joe Richardson, Enfield; and Willy Richardson, Chase, BC. Jean was a dedicated mother to her 6 children, who worked for many years for Cara Operations and loved bingo. She was a very hardworking, honest soul who will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation by request. Funeral Service will be held at St. Bernard’s Church, Enfield on Friday September 18th at 11am, Father Michael Walsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean may be made to MADD Canada or IWK Children’s Hospital. A very special thanks goes out to the CCAs, nurses, and all staff at the Magnolia – Sand Dollar Cottage, who made her final years comfortable.
