NICHOLSON, (McCabe) Geraldine Mary “Gerrie” – 1941 -2015, Enfield. The family of Geraldine “Gerrie” Nicholson are saddened to announce her death after a short illness. She passed away peacefully at home with family and friends by her side on Wednesday August 19, 2015. She was a daughter of the late John E. and Helen (Perry) McCabe. Gerrie was a devoted mother and grandmother and provided wonderful care to dozens of children in her home over many many years. She was the devoted wife of Floyd Nicholson and a wonderful mother to Michael, mother-in-law to Denise; grandmother to her beautiful grandchildren, Adrienne and Hazen, whom she adored and her life revolved around. She is also survived by her siblings, Helen Gallant, Janie Mae “Dolly” DiFlorio; Gary McCabe, Chevi Murphy. She was predeceased by siblings, John Edward “Sonnie” McCabe, Garth McCabe, Betty Ann Samuel and Myron Daniel “Danny” McCabe. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A memorial service in celebration of Gerrie’s life will take place 1pm Saturday August 22, 2015 in the Magnolia Continuing Care Community Centre, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. A service will take place in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Riverview, New Brunswick with interment to follow at a later date. Donations in memory of Gerrie may be made to the Ostomy Halifax, 11 Taylor Drive, Windsor Junction NS, B2T1K7.
