Obituary of Cora Elizabeth Forbes

FORBES (THOMPSON), Cora Elizabeth, born June 11th, 1965 to Lachlan and Phyllis Thompson of Elmsdale, Nova Scotia, passed away at home on March 7, 2015. Cora was an avid figure skater in her younger years and later on developed an interest in fiddling. She had been employed by the Provincial Government and later the RCMP in Truro and Halifax. She operated her landscaping company "Little Loads" in Enfield for many years. Cora had a green thumb and loved sharing her knowledge and giving plants to people near and far. She enjoyed her summers at the cottage in Brule and also at Pat's camp in Renfrew. She is survived by her wonderful children, Nicole, Victoria, B.C., Angela, Wolfville, and Lachlan, Enfield; her siblings Leon (Annette), Elmsdale, Archie (Liz), Whitehorse, YT, and Colleen Edgett (Stephen), Lantz; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Lachlan and recently by her partner, Pat Gilby. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday in the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday March 12, 2015 in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale, Rev. Beth Brehaut officiating. Spring interment will be in the Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan. Her free spirit will not soon be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please do something nice for someone anonymously.
