Obituary of Bernard Horne

Please share a memory of Bernard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HORNE, Bernard "Bernie" Gerald, Enfield. Born in Enfield, Nova Scotia, on May 12, 1938. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we mourn the recent passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Bernard. Bernard was a good friend to many and loved to laugh and carry on. Bernard could be found rolling cigarettes so flat they looked like the prairies; he could be spotted eating bags of fudge and chocolates by the box; he could be heard telling stories into the wee hours of the morning and had also been known to occasionally River Dance without music with his nephew. He was a logger, miner, and painter who worked and travelled all across Canada. A lifelong bachelor, Bernard couldn't be tied down. His true love always remained the outdoors, where he spent much of his time hunting, fishing and roaming the high country of BC. There was nothing he couldn't track, hunt or catch…. And if there was it probably was of the two legged kind. What words can convey the loss of someone who brought so much laughter and joy into the world. There is a hole in the world where he used to be. He is gone and we miss him greatly. He is survived by his sisters Joan (Art) Dauphney, Muriel (Larry) Willet, brother Gerald "Bud" (MaryAnn) Horne and his many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Bernard is pre-deceased by his mother, Iva Horne, father Gerald Horne, brother Donald Horne, and sister Geraldine Towie. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at the Enfield Fire Hall 1-4pm, Sunday November 24, 2013. Until we see you again in Woodsman's Heaven "Over and Out"
